METHODS & EVIDENCE

A number should come with its reasoning.

Our research standard is straightforward: identify the inputs, explain the calculation, and distinguish reported facts from assumptions.

Reported data

Company research draws on installed, dated financial records. Review the reporting period, filing date where available, source and retrieval date. A historical financial record is not a live market quote. Missing data remains missing rather than being replaced with invented company facts.

Model outputs

A financial-strength rating is an output of the project’s scoring methodology. It summarizes selected evidence; it is not an audited credit rating or a promise of future investment returns. Portfolio construction applies its documented selection and weighting rules to the available research universe.

Original J, Hidden P/E and Pressure Sensitivity

Original J is the project’s combined company adjustment. Hidden P/E = reported P/E ÷ J. Pressure Sensitivity = 1 ÷ J. These linked outputs come from one mathematical family; agreement among them is not three independent confirmations. Valid, complete inputs and the documented domain restrictions are required before interpreting a result.

Valuation scenarios

A scenario makes future earnings growth, the future earnings multiple and the investment horizon explicit. Its outputs change when those assumptions change. Scenario ranges describe chosen assumptions unless a separately documented statistical method establishes a probability interpretation.

Validation and corrections

Source traceability, arithmetic checks and usable interfaces are necessary, but they do not establish predictive success. Readers should distinguish an implemented calculation from an independently validated investment signal. For questions or corrections, use the official project destinations linked from the support page and identify the company, reporting date and calculation involved.
